Gone are the days when my kids would sweetly write a list to Santa, and I'd have to quickly sneak a picture to ensure their holiday dreams came true. These days, I'm more apt to get a text from my teenagers, or they’ll just not-so-subtly “borrow” my stuff. Parenting older kids is bittersweet, but it can still be fun to embrace the magic of the holidays—and while I'm being honest, it can also make shopping a lot easier when your kids give you a detailed wish list (complete with links).
Like many families, we're on a budget this year, so I'm doing my best to hit all my teens' wish list items with a few affordable swaps. For instance, I'm stalking the Lululemon Like New section to find the Everywhere Fleece Belt Bag of their dreams, embracing an Owala water bottle that isn't our beloved Stanley, and leaning into all the mini versions of trendy brands like Charlotte Tilbury and Sol de Janeiro.
Lululemon Everywhere Fleece Belt Bag 1L
Even though my 16-year-old is the proud owner of not one but two Lululemon belt bags already (thanks, Grandmas!), she has yet another Lululemon on her holiday wish list. This time, it's this fuzzy fleece option, which comes in three winter-worthy colors: white and gold, pink and silver, or grey eucalyptus and silver.
Like other belt bags, the fleece version has a 1L capacity, an adjustable strap, and an exterior zippered pocket. You have my teens' endorsement for this bag, but Lululemon's website is also chock-full of happy parents and grandparents who have already ordered what they dub the "it bag of the season" as a gift for the teens and tweens in their lives.
Dash MultiMaker Treat Maker System
I'm not entirely sure why my teenager asked for this treat-maker system, but you know what? I love the idea of her getting off the phone and more into a hobby, especially if that hobby happens to be making delicious miniature donuts, waffle bites, and cupcakes the whole family can enjoy. The Dash MultiMaker Treat Maker System comes with six removable, dishwasher-safe trays you can swap in and out to choose your treat mold.
"The plates are removable and much easier to clean than my waffle iron," explains one Amazon reviewer. “They clip into place easily. They make one medium-sized heart waffle, seven mini doughnuts, or nine mini muffins."
Stanley The Fall Refresh Quencher H2.0 FlowState 40-Ounce Tumbler
Stanley-loving teens (OK, and adults) will be thrilled to receive the new Fall Refresh Quencher for the holidays. Like the classic Stanley Quencher, the new color options include a removable straw, a sipping lid, and a rotating silicone cover. You can choose between 16, 24, 32, or 40-ounce sizes.
Owala FreeSip Water Bottle
While my teens say they will forever love their Stanley cups, they have their eyes on the Owala FreeSip Water Bottle. This popular stainless steel water bottle has a spill-free lid with a carrying handle and two drinking options: spout or straw. The bright color combination choices are especially popular with the teen and tween crowd, and the water bottle comes in four different sizes, ranging from 24 to 40 ounces.
Dior Rosy Glow Blush
The Dior Rosy Glow Blush is not cheap, but my teens swear it’s a standalone beauty product that provides the dewy, glowy look the youths are known for. Choose from nine shades, ranging from mahogany to pink lilac, or top off with the bronze glow option. For the price, you get a lot of product, which might help ease Santa's mind about slipping this one in the stocking.
Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Sun-Kissed Glow Cream Bronzer
This viral cream bronzer promises 16 hours of wear, sweatproof coverage, and hydration with added hyaluronic acid and Vitamin D. The Charlotte Tilbury Sun-Kissed Glow Cream Bronzer is available in four shades, from a "natural soft" bronze option to a "warm deep" bronze color.
I'm not entirely sold on buying a $60 bronzer for a teenager, so to appease their wishes, I'm eyeing the Charlotte Tilbury Mini Filmstar Bronze & Glow Contour Duo, which is half the price.
Ugg Classic Ultra Mini Platform
Last year, the Ugg Tazz slippers were popular, but this year, with the return of classic early 2000s looks like flare leggings and cargo pants, teens are also flocking back to the original Ugg boot design. My Gen Alpha teens say they prefer the platform and shorter boot design, too. For a more budget-friendly option, the Dream Pairs look and feel similar but are over $100 cheaper.
Carhartt Montana Parka
It may be our Michigan winters or part of living in a farm town, but my 14-year-old has requested a Carhartt coat for Christmas. She will undoubtedly be warm when she wears it, thanks to its ultra-insulation and extreme weather rating. The coat has winter-ready features like a fleece-lined upper body and hood, blown-in insulation, a hood drawcord, and water-repellant outer fabric to stay warm and dry even in wet weather.
Spring Sugar Slick Back Set
Seeing this affordable option on my teen's wish list practically made me jump for joy. For less than $10, this set equips any teen or tween to pull off the perfect slicked-back hairstyle. The set includes one hair wax stick and three hair tools: an edge brush, a rat tail comb, and a teasing brush. My teens currently use this wax stick and love it, so they're upping their game by adding a second stick and the tools to elevate their style.
Sol de Janeiro Beija Flor Jet Set
Any Sol de Janeiro product is at the top of my teens' list, and they specifically sent me this set because it includes three different products—a Beija Flor body wash, Beija Flor Elasti-Cream, and Cheirosa 68 Beija Flor Perfume Mist—in a convenient carrying case. My 16-year-old gushes, "The case is perfect for keeping in my car!"
Serta Leena Shaggy Faux Fur Electric Heated Throw Blanket
If you have a teen who's always cold, this heated throw blanket could be just the gift to spread actual warmth this holiday season. At a cozy 50 x 60 inches, the blanket comes in pretty pastel pink, white, black, or grey colors and is machine-washable once you remove the electric component. There are five heat settings and a 3-hour auto safety shut-off for both fickle and forgetful teens.
Home Smile Initials Jewelry Tray
Every parent of a teen daughter understands the struggle of trying to keep them organized. While this jewelry tray may not magically clean my daughter's room, I hope it will at least slow the current trail of random earrings, rings, and bracelets I find around the house constantly. Plus, it's aesthetic enough that I feel confident my teen will actually use it, and it comes in a monogrammed option, so I can get one for every girl in the house.
Summer Fridays The Holiday Lip Butter Balm Set
I have no idea why these lip balms are so popular with the teen crowd, but apparently, they are. The Summer Friday lip balms promise "soothing moisture" thanks to shea and murumuru seed butters and vegan waxes that seal in hydration. Use the lip balms for daily moisturizing or as an overnight lip mask. This special holiday trio set comes with cherry red, pink sugar with a hint of buttercream, and a sheer sweet mint.
Swomog Silk Satin Pajamas Sets
I don't know if my teens are watching too many rom-coms, but they are convinced their lives will only be complete once they have their own matching silk pajamas. After researching, I discovered that 100% silk pajamas are expensive (if you're curious, here's a pure silk option from Nordstrom), so I’m now turning to the second option of satiny pajamas that feel like silk. I found this highly-rated Amazon option that has four total pieces, so my teens can mix and match tops and bottoms for comfort or by season.
